Molecular epidemiology and genomic characterization of Providencia stuartii.

The objective of the study is to perform the molecular epidemiology and population structure of Providencia stuartii, one of the most frequently described within the genera Providencia and associated with healthcare-associated infections. This project corresponds to epidemiological surveillance of Providencia stuartii collected from hospitals in Mexico between 2017 and 2024, of which 37% are carbapenemase-producing; being the NDM-1 the unique MBL identified.
