资源简介:
Motivation is a central factor in second language (L2) learning, influencing learners’ effort, persistence, and overall achievement. This article examines key theoretical perspectives on L2 motivation, including Gardner’s socio-educational model, Dörnyei’s L2 Motivational Self System, and Self-Determination Theory. It highlights the shift from traditional views of motivation as a static trait toward understanding it as a dynamic and multifaceted process shaped by individual, contextual, and sociocultural factors. The discussion explores different types of motivation, such as integrative, instrumental, intrinsic, and extrinsic, and emphasizes how they interact within learners. Additionally, the article identifies factors affecting motivation, including self-efficacy, classroom environment, cultural influences, and teaching practices. Practical strategies for enhancing motivation are also presented, focusing on learner autonomy, meaningful learning experiences, and supportive instruction. Overall, the article underscores the importance of fostering motivation to promote effective and sustained language learning outcomes.
