Tree species map 4 classes BFW Austria

The tree species map is based on vegetation index time series calculated from Sentinel-2 satellite images. Together with terrain and vegetation height models, a tree species map for the entire Austrian forest area is created using neural networks (a method of machine learning or artificial intelligence). The tree species map with 26 classes is summarized after the creation, for the present product, on 4 classes.
