We obtained two new biocontrol strains, Bacillus AIX-5 and endophytic En-II-49, from banana rhizosphere soil and neck bars, that have shown good inhibitory effects against Foc. A banana wilt pathogen of X1 was also separated from infected bananas in Guangxi. Plate confrontation experiments showed that AIX-5 and En-II-49 had totally independent growth inhibition of Foc race 1 (Foc 1), Foc race 4 (Foc 4) and X1.
