Emerging research highlights the critical role of gut microbiota in modulating brainactivity through the gut-brain axis. This study investigates whether targeted gastrointestinalirradiation induces abscopal effects on the brain proteome, thereby providing insights intomicrobiota-mediated neurobiological changes. Male Sinclair minipigs were randomly assigned toeither a sham/control group (n=6) or a group receiving 8 Gy lower hemibody (gut-targeted)irradiation (n=5). Over 14 days, animals were monitored and rectal swabs were collected toassess gut microbiota dynamics. On day 14, frontal cortex (FCtx) brain tissue was harvested forproteomic analysis.
