Study on microbial community of Antarctica Ross Sea involved in phytodetritus degradation

This study analyses the microbial communities of mesopelagic and epipelagic water at four stations in Ross sea, Antarctica, to describe species involved in phytodetritus degradation. The project includes 16S and metagenomic data of both mesocosm experiments and environmental samples. Mesocosm experiments were carried out starting from mesopelagic and epipelagic environmental microbial communities and include two different time points, one at the benign and one at the end of the experiment. Mesecosms were analyzed by means of 16S sequencing. The initial time points were analyzed both with 16S and whole genome sequencing.
