Which layer should I use? (choose from the list below) This dataset is available in four layers: BFE, BFC, BGC and BSC. Select the layer that best suits your intended use. For analytical work, use the full-resolution BFC or BFE layers. For mapping or visualisation, use the generalised BGC or BSC layers. Layer Description BFE Full Extent – Full-resolution boundaries extend to the Extent of the Realm (Low Water Mark) and are the most detailed. BFC Full Clipped – Full-resolution boundaries clipped to the coastline (Mean High Water Mark). BGC Generalised Clipped – Generalised to 20 m and clipped to the coastline (Mean High Water Mark). BSC Super Generalised Clipped – Generalised to 200 m and clipped to the coastline (Mean High Water Mark). Layer Description: Middle layer Super Output Area boundaries are a polygon representation of MSOAs. They were created and designed to improve the reporting of small area statistics.
