Short RNA sequencing data from lymphoblastoid cell lines

We compare two different short RNA-seq cDNA library preparation kits: NEBNext and Illumina TruSeq. For total RNA preparation, cells were grown in suspension using RPMI 1640 media with 30% non-heat inactivated FBS + glutamate (Sigma-Aldrich). After seeding, cells were grown for 3-5 days and harvested. RNA was isolated using Trizol extraction (Invitrogen). RNA libraries were prepared for sequencing using standard NEBNext and Illumina TruSeq cDNA library preparation protocols. The NEBNext 3'-adapter is AGATCGGAAGAGCACACGTCT and the Illumina NextSeq 3'-adapter is TGGAATTCTCGGGTGCCAAGG. Short RNA-Seq was run on the Illumina NextSeq 500 sequencer.
