Human Behavioral Systems: Predation, Indifference, and the Architecture of Human Responsibility This paper presents a behavioral systems framework for understanding harmful human behavior through the interacting roles of predator, victim, and witness. Rather than focusing exclusively on perpetrators or victims, the framework examines the broader behavioral architecture that allows exploitation to emerge, persist, or be interrupted. Using principles derived from Constraint Triangulation Theory and Paper Zero analysis, the paper defines predation as the exploitation of vulnerability for personal gain and explores how asymmetries of power, agency, dependency, and opportunity influence human interactions. Particular attention is given to the role of witnesses, arguing that indifference is not behaviorally neutral but a force that can influence outcomes and contribute to the continuation of harm. The work proposes that healthy social systems are characterized by reciprocity, stewardship, accountability, and adaptive feedback. It further distinguishes between condemning harmful actions and permanently condemning individuals, emphasizing correction, prevention, and personal responsibility as mechanisms for long-term social stability. This paper is intended as a conceptual and analytical framework for examining human behavior, responsibility, exploitation, and intervention across social, organizational, and interpersonal contexts. HUMAN BEHAVIORAL SYSTEMS.
