Ebro high terrace shapefile

This is a database of the highest terraces of the Ebro Basin. Compilation by V. Regard, April 2021.

It is supposed to be exhaustive for levels A to D (A the oldest), and not exhaustive for the levels E to G. Shapes come mainly from the digital IGME geological maps (MAGNA 50 - Mapa Geológico de España a escala 1:50.000; 2ª Serie). A few of them have been redrawn. In addition, we provide an enlarged Figure 1 with respect to the paper.

ID. unique identifier

Litteratur. Terrace labels found in literature

Harmonised. Harmonisation of level labels. A is the oldest. Glacis, and level E to G are not exhaustive, they have been drawn to set the context.

IGME_Geol. Formation labels in 1:50.000 Geological maps (Mapa Geomorfológico de España a escala 1:50.000 published by IGME; UTM 30 or 31 reference system; info.igme.es/cartografiadigital/tematica/Geomorphologico50.aspx?language=es).

River. Name of the river.

Relative elev. Terrace elevation above the main river (in meters).

Remarks. Additional information

Elevation. Elevation of the terrace above sea level

Mag_polar. Magnetic polarity (I for Inverse, N for normal)

Age. Age in ka is exists (plus reference).
