This dataset contains RNA-seq data from human macrophages infected in vitro with four members of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTBC): M. bovis, M. caprae, and M. africanum lineages 5 and 6. Transcriptomes were generated to compare gene expression profiles across MTBC species with distinct genetic backgrounds. The goal is to investigate how genetic variability influences transcriptional responses and bacterial phenotypes during infection. These data provide a resource for studying host-pathogen interactions and mechanisms of virulence and adaptation among MTBC lineages.
