This dataset contains data collected through lesson observation to conduct a study entitled: "<b>Enhancing Mathematics Instruction: The Impact of the Teaching Experiment Model on Teachers’ Effectiveness in Implementing Project-Based Learning</b>." To collect data, the teacher was observed while teaching mathematics for Grade Five (Primary Five) students. The teaching experiment model was used to support the participant teacher improve the teaching practices of mathematics through project-based learning pedagogy. Thirty lessons were observed during and after intervention. The intervention lasted for one month.A Lesson Observation Tool for Project-based Learning (LOTPBL) was used to collect data. The tool was developed based on the aspirations of Abidin et al. [20], emphasizing project-based learning principles. These include: (1) real-world connection, (2) students' voice and choice, (3) inquiry and innovation, (4) sustained inquiry, (5) reflection, (6) critique and revision, and (7) public product. The tool was made of 25 items with "No" and "Yes" options. Data from classroom observation are analyzed quantitatively. One score (1 score) or zero score (0 score) given for "Yes" or "No" options, respectively, to inform whether an action occurred or did not occur, during instructions.
