24 sponges from the Cinachyrella genus, and collected on the Florida reef tract were exposed to sublethal doses (0.5 ppm) of crude oil, dispersant, and oil:dispersant mixtures. Differential expression profiling was performed to characterized the effect of oil spill chemicals on benthic organisms using this new sponge model organisms.
