This series comprises correspondence maintained by the Committee. The subject of the correspondence is the formation of a new body to represent the interests of Geelong and District municipalities. At a meeting of representatives of Geelong and District municipalities held at Geelong West Town Hall on Monday 23 March 1970 it was recommended that a new body be formed and that it operate for a trial period of two years. That new body became the Geelong Local Government Committee. It met for the first time on 28 September 1970.The correspondence in this record series dates from 29 April 1970 to 28 September 1970.
