"Negerhütte" ("Negro hut"). A traditional Chagga hut. The hut is elliptical and has a peaked top. It is covered with grass. Behind the hut banana plants. In front of the entrance an African boy with banana leaves.; The picture was probably taken by Johannes Schanz (1876-1963). He worked as a missionary of the Leipzig Mission in Moshi and Mamba from 1901 to 1910.
