Regarding the essential role played by bacterial and fungal communities for the crop production, the aim of this project is to assess the influence of different agricultural practices: tillage with conventional and reduced tillage, and crop residue utilization with crop residues left on the field and removed from the field, on bacterial and fungal community composition, and at different ranges of depth: 0 to 5 cm and 15 to 20 cm. Soil samples were taken in Belgium (Gembloux) at the grain filling stage of a winter wheat crop in 2014. Following the DNA extraction, the DNA was sequenced using 454 Junior (Roche).
