Proteins showing distribution limited to cereal pathogens in a BLASTmatrix analysis were used as queries of the non-redundant protein database at NCBI and those for which specificity to pathogens was still evident and had strong matches in bacterial species, with a limited number of fungal matches were retained. Numbers indicate BLASTp bit scores from the reciprocal best blast hits.
