祁连山西段天鹅湖TE岩芯湖泊沉积物孢粉组合记录,揭示了3500年以来该研究区气候演替历史。花粉蒿藜比值(A/C)结果显示,1530-1270 BC湿度条件不稳定;1270 BC-400 AD,1200-1350 AD和1600 AD-至今表现相对湿润;400-1200 AD和1350-1600 AD表现相对干旱。与树轮数据比较表明,连续干旱可能造成该地区一些考古遗址和古城的弃置,如敦煌于1372 AD被弃置,后在1524 AD后被弃置近200年。
The palynological assemblage records from lacustrine sediments of core TE in Tian'e Lake, western Qilian Mountains, reveal the climate succession history of the study area over the past 3500 years. The results of the Artemisia/Chenopodiaceae (A/C) ratio show that the humidity conditions were unstable during 1530–1270 BC; periods including 1270 BC–400 AD, 1200–1350 AD and 1600 AD–present were relatively humid, while 400–1200 AD and 1350–1600 AD were relatively arid. Comparison with tree-ring data indicates that prolonged aridity may have led to the abandonment of several archaeological sites and ancient cities in this region. For instance, Dunhuang was abandoned in 1372 AD, and remained deserted for nearly 200 years after 1524 AD.
