资源简介:
Acinetobacter baumannii infections are often associated with healthcare settings, particularly in the intensive care unit of hospitals. These infections can be challenging to treat due to the bacterium's resistance to multiple antibiotics. In addition to antimicrobial resistance, A. baumannii can persist in the environment and possesses a range of virulence factors, including numerous toxins that can kill neighbouring bacteria. This study aimed to characterise the structure, function and delivery of three such toxins. Understanding how these toxins function may provide new avenues to prevent A. baumannii infections in future.
