Replication package for "What AI can do and what AI is allowed to do: institutional friction and occupational exposure in a developing economy"

Replication package for the article "What AI can do and what AI is allowed to do:institutional friction and occupational exposure in a developing economy". The package contains BR-AIX, an index of potential exposure, executable exposure andinstitutional friction for the 431 base groups of the Brazilian occupationalclassification, together with the per-rater scores, the scoring rubric, thecrosswalks between classifications, the legal register of the 31 Brazilian federalprofessional councils, the derived microdata needed to run the pipeline, allanalysis code, and every intermediate and final result. It includes VERIFICAR.py, a verification script that checks the integrity of all196 files against a manifest and then re-derives, from the files in the package,the 24 quantities the article rests on, comparing each against the published valueand exiting non-zero on any divergence. All primary data are public: the occupational profile of the BrazilianClassification of Occupations, the Continuous National Household Sample Survey andthe Population Census (IBGE), CAGED and RAIS (Ministry of Labor and Employment),the Anthropic Economic Index (CC-BY), and the primary legal instruments of theprofessional councils.
