Soybean aphids (Aphis glycines) were fed susceptible or Rag1+Rag2 (i.e., soybean with host-plant resistance) for 12 hours, before they were collected for RNA sequencing. There were 2 aphid biotypes: virulent (i.e. survive on soybean with Rag1+Rag2 resistance) and avirulent. The goal was to compare gene expression between aphid biotypes to identify changes in gene expression that may promote aphid virulence to Rag1+Rag2 soybean.
