The illumina DNA sequencing platform was employed to obtain 20, 010, 105 reads from cDNA libraries generated from brain tissue of adult male golden mahseer, Tor putitora. Transcriptome de novo assembly was carried out using Trinity on dafault parameters. Assembled transcript contigs were validated using CLC Genomic workbench by mapping high quality reads back to the assembled transcript contigs. Total 39,047 transcript contigs were assembled for this sample.Functional annotation of the CDS was performed using the 26,989 CDS of male sample by aligning the CDS to non-redundant database of NCBI using the BLASTX with an E-value threshold of 1e-06.
