资源简介:
To understand the impacts of defaunation on the seed dispersal of Cerrado, we sampled plant-frugivore interactions in five sites and assessed seed dispersal effectiveness of each interaction. Using a network approach, we simulated frugivore extinctions and population declines to evaluate the plant community response in terms of structural (remaining plant species) and functional robustness (remaining seed dispersal effectiveness). This dataset contains 5 plant-frugivore interaction networks and a combined network joining all 5 study sites, weighted by SDE of each pair of interacting species. Furthermore, it contains 5 dataframes with values of interaction frequencies, number of seeds dispersed per visit, seed germination, seed dispersal effectiveness (SDE), animal specialization (i.e., normalized degree), animal abundance, animal body mass and fruit diameter for each pair of interacting species. We have the following worksheets in the Excel table: pop_declines: the joined network combining all 5 study sites, weighted by SDE values for each pair of interacting species. Columns refer to plant species and rows refer to each interaction event between a frugivore individual and a plant species. network_1 - 5: 5 plant-frugivore interaction networks weighted by SDE values for each pair of interacting species. Columns refer to plant species and rows refer to frugivore species. DF_1 - 5: 5 dataframes containing the variables, organized in columns: animalSp: frugivore speciesplantSp: plant speciesvis: interaction frequencies calculated following the grand total standardization method (Quintero et al., 2022) per pair of interacting speciesqtc: average number of seeds dispersed per visit per pair of interacting speciesqlc: average seed germination proportions per pair of interacting speciessde: seed dispersal effectiveness, given by the product of vis, qtc and qlc, per pair of interacting speciesn.degree: normalized degree for each frugivore species. Normalized degree is given by the number of plant species each frugivore interacts divided by the total number of plants in the network.abund_animals: frugivore relative abundances given by the number of records of each frugivore species weighted by sampling effort, divided by the total number of records weighted by sampling effort.body_mass: frugivores body mass, given by their weights in grams (g).fruit_diameter: average fruit diameter for each plant species, given in millimeters (mm). Scripts simulating defaunation scenarios were adapted from Donoso et al. (2020) (doi.org/10.1038/s41467-020-15438-y) for species extinction scenarios, and from Rumeu et al. (2017) (doi.org/10.1111/1365-2435.12897) for the population decline scenario.
