Nomograms for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma treated with sorafenib

In this study, 281 patients who had received sorafenib treatment for advanced HCC at the Tri-Service General Hospital between March 2008 and December 2017 were retrospectively enrolled. Diagnosis of HCC was made according to the criteria of American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases treatment guidelines for HCC [18]. The eligibility criteria included patients with (1) a diagnosis of HCC made by dynamic imaging criteria and/or biopsy, (2) Child-Turcotte-Pugh (CTP) class A–B liver function, and (3) sorafenib as their main treatment. Most cases were discussed by a multidisciplinary team, and sorafenib was considered to be beneficial for survival. The demographic characteristics of patients are presented in Table 1.The institutional review board of the Tri-Service General Hospital allowed this study (permit number: 1-107-05-016) and waived the requirement for advised consent due to the retrospective disposition of the study assessed as low risk for patients. All the data are de-identified on collection and analysis. This study was particularly with the Declaration of Helsinki and other ethical guidelines.
