This study investigated the effectiveness of a gamified approach to supporting self-regulated learning (SRL) in EFL contexts. Across three quasi-experiments with 8 to 12-week interventions, data from surveys, trace logs, and interviews consistently showed that gamification with SRL scaffolds helped sustain learners' motivation, strategy use, and EFL performance over time.
