Analysis pipeline and derived data for "What a net balance conceals: the public training cost of physician emigration from Spain"

Reproducible analysis pipeline (R) and derived input data for a study estimating the public training investment embodied in physician emigration from Spain, and the point in the training and employment cycle at which physicians leave. The pipeline reads the source files, derives every quantity reported in the paper, and halts if any of ten reference values fails to reproduce. It covers the annual volume of effective deregistrations from the medical register (2017–2024), the composition of the outflow by training phase, the accumulated public investment per departing physician under three cost definitions, and the relationship between destination and specialist pay. Derived inputs are included as CSV files with their sources documented. The microdata from the Survey on the Labour Market Insertion of University Graduates (EILU, 2014 and 2019 waves) are not redistributed here: they are published by the Spanish National Statistics Institute and must be obtained from that source. The README specifies which files are required and where to place them. Access is restricted until publication of the associated article.
