Trimodulin and pneumonia

This RNAseq dataset evaluates gene expression to assess the therapeutic potential of trimodulin in a complex mouse model mimicking critically ill CAP patients infected with S. pneumoniae. In addition, we combined trimodulin with ampicillin to address if trimodulin has further added benefit in addition to reducing bacterial burden. Overall design: Mice were either infected with S. pneumoniae or sham-infected with PBS as control, 22 h later mice were treated with placebo as control, trimodulin, ampicillin or a combination of both until the 30 hpi analysis time point.
