About ELS<b>Education Longitudinal Study of 2002 (ELS:2002) Features</b>Nationally representative, longitudinal study of 10th graders in 2002 and 12th graders in 2004Students followed throughout secondary and postsecondary yearsSurveys of students, their parents, math and English teachers, and school administratorsStudent assessments in math (10th &amp; 12th grades) and English (10th grade)High school transcripts available for research on coursetaking<b>ELS:2002 Focus</b>What are students' trajectories from the beginning of high school into postsecondary education, the workforce, and beyond?What are the different patterns of college access and persistence that occur in the years following high school completionData OrganizationEach table has an associated excel and excel SE file, which are grouped together in a folder in the dataset (one folder per table).<br>In the root folder, there is a catalog csv that provides a crosswalk between the folder names and file names and the original table titles.<br><br>In addition to the tables, this project contains (1) codebooks for ELS generated in NCES datalabs and found in the NCES resource library, (2) questionnaires for ELS downloaded from the study website and (3) documentation and user manuals related to ELS found in the NCES resource library.
