Gut microbiota of diploid and triploid Atlantic salmon

The use of triploid Atlantic salmon could benefit aquaculture production and reduce the environmental impact. However, little is known about the impact of triploidy on the gut microbiome and in relation to other factors such as growth performances, survival, prevalence of malformation and behavioural traits. This data set containes 16S rRNA gene sequence amplicons (V3-V4) for analysis of the gut microbial community of juvenile triploid and diploid farmed Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) reared at low (8°C) temperatures between 81 and 229 DPH.
