Porto Metropolitan Bird Observations — Extended Survey — Part 1 of 2

Other parts: • Part 2: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.20772543 This dataset contains six months of bird observation records collected at five sites across the Porto metropolitan area, Portugal, from January to June 2026. The main table includes individual observation records with a unique observation identifier, local timestamp, common and scientific species names, site identifier, individual count, observer identifier, and detection mode (seen, heard, or seen+heard). Supporting files provide site and species lookup tables, a data dictionary, and summary analyses of monthly species counts and site-level species richness. Counts are integer values representing the number of individuals recorded per sighting, and the observations were collected using timed 10-minute point counts during morning hours.
