Listeria monocytogenes respiratory infections occurred during the SARS-CoV2 era

Listeria monocytogenes (Lm) can be responsible of a wide range of clinical symptoms. Lm-associated respiratory infections, although very rare, were previously reported. In the midst of the SARS-CoV2 pandemic, two respiratory tract infection cases associated to Lm occurred in Central Italy. In the first of these cases, Lm was isolated from the pleural drainage culture of a 73-year-old man affected by adenocarcinoma and in the second one, Lm was isolated from the blood culture of a pregnant woman presenting pneumonia.
