# **Dataset Information**

This dataset has been custom developed in partnership with Snowflake’s Technical Education Team, as part of ‘The Hands-On Essentials Workshop Series’. The dataset has been optimized for the Snowflake platform but restricted to certain cities in accordance with the applicable workshop scenarios.

This sample is a small subset of IPinfo’s industry leading 'IP Geolocation' data that maps billions of public IP addresses around the world to their geolocation positions. IPinfo builds and maintains its own proprietary IP geolocation database, which is used to generate various forms of geographic information for internet traffic.

*IP addresses are represented both as an IP address varchar and their integer equivalent.

◦ JOIN_KEY (Varchar) ⇒ Special value to facilitate join operation

◦ CITY (Varchar) ⇒ City where the IP address is located

◦ REGION (Varchar) ⇒ Region where the IP address is located

◦ COUNTRY (Varchar) ⇒ Country where the IP address is located

◦ LAT (Varchar) ⇒ Latitude value of the IP address

◦ LNG (Varchar) ⇒ Longitude value of the IP address

◦ POSTAL (Varchar) ⇒ Postal Code of the IP address location
