FIG S2 Transition metals (Cu, Zn, Ni) do not affect HOSCN stability. Reactions (1 ml) containing 500 µM HOSCN and either no metal or 100 µM of CuCl2, ZnSO4, or NiSO4 in 10 mM HEPES-KOH buffer (pH 7.4) were incubated for 20 min at 37°C. At 5-min intervals, 20 µl aliquots were removed and assayed for HOSCN content using 2-nitro-5-thiobenzoic acid (TNB)(n=3 experimental replicates; error bars of 1 standard deviation).
