For more than a decade, magnetic nanoparticles have attracted great interest in a wide range of disciplines, owing to their great potential for application in various fields of science and technology, such as data storage, environmental remediation, a wide range of applications in biomedicine and biotechnologies, including magnetic resonance imaging, for gene delivery, drug vectorization. However, pure magnetic nanoparticles tend to oxidize under the influence of the environment leading to a deterioration in their properties and imposing restrictions on their application.
