The assessment areas for the protection area control serve to control the protection area construction and provide information about the degree of coverage and thus about the protection area requirement. Mandatory persons may be exempted from the construction of a protected area in the relevant assessment area if there is a need for a protected area. The municipal areas (including exclaves) serve as the geometric basis for the assessment areas. An appraisal area is a whole municipality or part of a municipality.
