The Frequency of Patient-initiated Violence and Its Psychological Impact on Physicians in China: A Cross-sectional Study

This study examined different frequency levels of specific types of violence and their relationship with physicians’ psychological variables, including emotional exhaustion, job satisfaction, and intention to leave .Using a stratified random sampling method, the participants were drawn from 123 public hospitals in Shanghai, Hubei, and Gansu provinces in China from June through October in 2013, and 1,656 valid self-report questionnaires were collected.
