Burkholderia sp. THE68 is a bacterial gut symbiont of Togo hemipterus (Heteroptera: Lygaeoidea: Rhyparochromidae). We sequenced the genome of THE68 and compared the genome with those of the bean bug Riptortus pedestris (Heteroptera: Coreoidea: Alydidae), such as Burkholderia insecticola RPE64, to understand the genetic basis of the insect-microbe symbiosis.
