#Sonar opinion polls: #---------------------- # #From August 1989 Sonar has carried out a number of opinion polls, i.e. surveys of attitudes and habits of life of the adult Danish population. The opinion polls have been carried out regularly in the period (approx. 10 times a year), and each opinion poll includes about six different subjects as well as the question of the respondent's voting intention at a hypothetical general election on the day of the interview. # The opinion polls have been carried out in collaboration with the daily paper Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten. The subjects for the individual opinion polls are agreed upon at meetings between the editorial staff of Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten and Sonar; however, the wording of the questions is the sole responsibility of Sonar. # The following background information is included in the data material: #The household: #- Total number of persons #- Sex and age of the household members #- Type of dwelling #- Car in household #- Geocode-2 # #The respondent: #- Year of birth #- Sex #- Gainful employment #- Designation of occupation #- Membership of a trade organization #- If yes: Which organization #- Vote at the last general election #- Driving in own car # #Sonar Opinion Polls, 1993: #-------------------------- # In 1993 Sonar carried out 10 opinion polls. All the questions have been included in DDA-2042: Sonar Opinion Polls, 1993. In addition, the individual opinion polls are found in DDA-2043 to DDA-2052. # #This survey (DDA-2046 Sonar Opinion Polls 1993: April) deals with the following issues: #Party preference; voting intention at the coming EC referendum; spare time activities connected with water; whether the EC's agricultural policy has mainly been profitable to the farmers or the consumers; attitude to leaving land fallow as a solution to the problem of surplus production within the EC; the importance of EC's agricultural policy when deciding what to vote at the coming EC referendum; fear of a number of unfortunate events (e.g. civil war in Eastern Europe, serious illness, mass invasion of refugees, unemployment, nuclear war); membership of a trade union; whether the trade unions should exclusively deal with traditional tasks or whether they should also - against higher membership fees - make the members various special offers and services; use of professional help/guidance or services from a trade union; whether the trade unions ought to be party neutral, i.e. that they should not support any political parties; the raison d'etre of the trade unions today; whether the respondent - if possible - would only be a member of an unemployment fund; assessment of the Socialist People's Party as an opposition party; and whether the change in attitude of the party after the Edinburgh Treaty has weakened the respondent's trust in the party
