Revisions to Holme Bay coastline and approaches to Mawson

This data set includes revisions of coastline data for the Holme Bay region and approaches to Mawson. Revised data were generated by digitising coastline and associated features from newly available satellite imagery that was predominantly ice free. In ice-free imagery, island coastlines could be clearly delineated and it was also possible to see marine near-surface features in some areas e.g. submerged rock. Digitising work in ArcGIS Pro included modifying or replacing coastal features to match the new ice-free imagery as well as expanding the dataset to include missing features e.g. smaller islands/rocks and near-surface features. Some satellite images that did have sea ice were also used to confirm the presence of smaller features such as offshore/near-surface rocks, as disruptions in the sea ice surface caused by these features were clearly visible. Satellite images used are noted in the 'SOURCE' field in the data set. The data is available as a polygon feature class in a GeoPackage.Coordinate system used for this region was WGS1984 UTM Zone 41S.
