Stratospheric Aerosol Injection (SAI) model output from NASA GISS ModelE2.2 and the System for Atmospheric Modeling (SAM)
收藏资源简介:
This dataset includes output from stratospheric aerosol injection (SAI) experiments for an upcoming study on how SAI affects the tropical troposphere independently of surface cooling. All simulations use prescribed (non-interactive) sea surface temperatures. Experiments were conducted using the GISS ModelE2.2 Earth system model, and the System for Atmospheric Modeling (SAM) in three configurations: (1) a large mock-Walker domain at 3 km resolution, (2) a small domain at 3 km resolution, and (3) a small domain at 1 km resolution. For each configuration, we include a control (no-SAI) simulation and a set of SAI experiments: a base case with a thick SAI layer, a version where stratospheric aerosols interact only with longwave radiation, as in the base case but with lower aerosol loading, and as in the base case but with smaller aerosol particles. See the study or its preprint for full descriptions of these simulations.
