Pseudomonas nitroreducens strain HBP1 (formerly, Pseudomonas azelaica HBP1) isolated from the wastewater in California in 1980's is one of a few bacteria capable of 2-hydroxybiphenyl (phenylphenol) biocide degradation. The goal of this study is to obtain complete ungapped assembly of its genome using long read sequencing with PacBio and to analyze contribution of mobile genetic elements to its adaptation to polluted environment.
