INV-2026.2 — Point inventory of natural recreational resources of the Fergana Valley (Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan)

INV-2026.2 is a point inventory of natural recreational resources of the Fergana Valley, compiled within the natural watershed-based boundary of the valley geosystem covering 76,302.6 km² across Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and a small part of China. The dataset contains 3,489 records corresponding to 3,481 unique locations: 2,773 springs, 634 mountain passes, 55 scenic viewpoints, 22 waterfalls and 5 caves. Of the spring records, 238 are attributed as mineral or thermal. The inventory combines 1,262 records derived from open sources, including OpenStreetMap, Randolph Glacier Inventory 7.0 and thematic GIS layers, and 2,227 records digitised from sixty-nine 1:100,000 topographic map sheets dated between 1976 and 1990. Duplicate records were merged using a 150 m radius. The dataset does not confirm the present-day existence of all objects. Object quality attributes such as spring discharge, water chemistry and temperature are not included. The coordinate reference system is EPSG:4326. Files include a canonical UTF-8 CSV table, a GeoPackage GIS layer, documentation, licensing information and SHA-256 checksums. Contains information from OpenStreetMap, which is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL).
