These sequences correspond to 165 nucleotide region of the NS5 gene from the Flaviviridae family. A total of 579 female <i>Ae. aegypti</i>, sorted in 89 pools, were collected between March and September 2016 from the Mayan communities of Xkalakdzonot and Paraiso in Yucatán, México. RNA was extracted from the pools and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was performed, using flavivirus-specific primers which amplify an ~251 nt region of the NS5 gene. The positive pools (3/89) were purified, and Sanger sequencing was executed. The sequences were aligned and edited using Mega v.7 software.
