A new experimental model of infection by SARS-CoV-2 is presented which is induced after the intravenous challenge of mice with plasma from patients with COVID-19 pneumonia and severe respiratory failure. Results coming from challenged mice are compared to mice challenged with plasma from healthy individuals. Overall design: Plasma from adults with COVID-19 pneumonia and severe respiratory failure and from healthy individuals is injected intravenously in mice
