Clinical, histologic and pathologic characteristics for the 439 HCC cases in the combined TCGA and ICGC (LIRI-JP) cohort.

Pathologic stage was determined using either AJCC (for TCGA) or LCSGJ (for ICGC) criteria. Vascular invasion includes both macrovascular and microvascular invasion, where known (whether invasion was macrovascular or microvascular was available for TCGA cases, but not for ICGC cases). For Edmondson grade, ICGC cases annotated as “grade I-II” were counted as grade II and cases annotated as “grade II-III” were counted as grade III. p values obtained from χ2 (*) and Mann-Whitney (**) tests are shown.
