The study was conducted among 71 undergraduate students. Participants completed a baseline survey consisting of sociodemographic information, social media use metrics, Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale and the Inventory of Parent Peer Attachment. Using experience sampling method, participants reported six times per day for 5 days on their social media use in the previous hour (including posting, posting valence, and social comparison) and their momentary experiences of connectedness and self-esteem.
