Ontology of Leak (Resolving self‑reference, lack of examples, ambiguity of control, and sloganism)

Abstract Preamble: Scope and Limitations This text does not propose a universal theory or an alternative metaphysics. It does not claim access to “reality in itself” or “truth for all fields.” What follows is a local, instrumental framework for identifying, describing, and analyzing situations in which: · Descriptions of a single phenomenon from two (or more) scientific, technical, or philosophical frameworks turn out to be incompatible. · None of the frameworks alone is sufficient. · And their combination is impossible due to a fundamental incommensurability. These situations are called leaks. A leak is neither a universal principle, nor an intrinsic property of objects, nor a poetic metaphor for the absence of boundaries. A leak is a local event at the border of failed translation. Every proposition in this text – including this very proposition – is valid only within the same framework that constructs it. If the reader does not accept the proposed conceptual framework, there is no obligation to accept its conclusions. The text provides no “metalanguage” to adjudicate between different fields. It merely shows that if one looks at the problem of “failed translation” from within a particular field (e.g., philosophy of science or systems theory), certain tools can be built. This position transforms the self‑reference problem from a paradoxical one into a harmless form of self‑reference: the text is aware of its own limits and declares them, without claiming to transcend them.
