Spatial and temporal inequalities in mortality from essential hypertension recorded as the underlying cause of death in Brazil, 2000–2023

This dataset contains aggregated data and supporting analytical files used in the study of mortality from essential hypertension recorded as the underlying cause of death in Brazil from 2000 to 2023. The repository includes descriptive sociodemographic data, annual death counts, population denominators and mortality rates for Brazil and its federative units, municipal-level contextual indicators, spatial analysis datasets, scan statistic input files, missing data summaries, sensitivity analysis results, and sex-specific age-standardized mortality rates. Deaths were defined according to ICD-10 code I10 recorded as the underlying cause of death in the Mortality Information System (SIM/DATASUS). All data are aggregated at national, regional, federative-unit, or municipal levels and contain no individual-level or identifiable information. The files are intended to support transparency, reproducibility, and reuse of the analyses reported in the manuscript.
