Mock communities and Arabidopsis thaliana leaves, Amplification of 16S 18S ITS

This study evaluated the use of two drop-in methods to improve amplicon sequencing pipelines. First, blocking oligomers were used to block non-target organisms in amplicon studies. Second, a pipeline for phylogenetic clustering of reads using a tree-based method was developed. Tests were performed in mock communities, by comparing across sequencing methods and by evaluating reproducibility in re-sequenced samples.
