A dataset containing the textural properties (BET Surface Area <i>S<sub>BET </sub></i>(m<sup>2</sup>/g), Ultramicropore Volume<i> V<sub>umic</sub></i> (cm<sup>3</sup>/g), Micropore Volume <i>V<sub>mic </sub></i>(cm<sup>3</sup>/g), Mesopore Volume <i>V<sub>meso </sub></i>(cm<sup>3</sup>/g), Total Pore Volume <i>V<sub>t</sub></i> (cm<sup>3</sup>/g)) and the chemical composition (C,H,O,N wt%) of various porous carbon materials as well as their corresponding hydrogen uptake <i>Exc </i>(H<sub>2</sub> wt%) at different temperatures <i>T</i> (K) and pressures (MPa) collected from literature.<br>We have also included the Python code to reproduce some graphs from our publication in <i>Carbon</i>.<br> Kusdhany, M.
